A Perfect Day in Porto: Local Flavor and Sunset Views

This storied city in the north of Portugal captivates visitors with its riverside charm, rich history, and legendary artistry. We've crafted an itinerary with the perfect blend of luxury, culture, and adventure—specifically for our intimate, all-women group of intrepid travelers.

On our perfect day in Porto, an expert local guide will lead us through Porto's cobblestone streets, sharing the city's rich stories and hidden gems. We'll begin at the magnificent Cathedral (Sé do Porto), where centuries of history come alive through gilded altars and the beautiful blue and white tiles that Portugal is famous for. Continuing on to the São Bento Train Station we’ll take in one of the city’s most impressive sights—a grand hall adorned with 22,000 hand-painted tiles depicting Portugal's history and cultural heritage. It's truly a masterpiece of Portuguese artistry.

As we stroll through Avenida dos Aliados, we'll admire Porto's elegant main square with buildings that showcase beautiful Parisian-inspired architecture from the late 1800s. Then we'll finish our morning in the charming Cordoaria garden area, just outside the old medieval walls. Here, shady exotic trees and historic buildings—including the old prison, court, and beautiful Baroque churches—tell the story of Porto's evolution through the centuries.

We'll enjoy an iconic lunch at the historic Mercado do Bolhão, where our local guide will help us navigate the market's finest offerings. And no visit to this enchanting city is complete without exploring the magnificent Livraria Lello, widely considered one of the world's most beautiful bookstores. Its stunning spiral staircase and neo-Gothic details reportedly inspired J.K. Rowling during her time in Porto. Later, at Graham's Port House, we'll enjoy a private tasting of premium aged ports expertly paired with local cheeses and handcrafted chocolates.

This itinerary is just the beginning of your encounter with Porto’s charms! We've included some special surprises and left time for personal exploration—whether you want to shop for local treasures, people-watch at a riverside café, or simply wander the charming streets at your own pace.
